Under-11s NYACC match report vs Darlington

MATCH REPORT:
DARLINGTON U11s 245 for 6 (215 net) v RICHMONDSHIRE U11s 294 for 2 (284 net)

Richmondshire win by 69 runs

Well the press heralded it as the game of the day - first versus second. We were expecting a close encounter. In truth, our U11s never needed to get out of second gear and coasted past Darlo to retain their 100% record in the NYACC League.

Wickets were shared amongst nearly all the bowlers, all of whom gave nothing away in a typically tight attack. The best figures were saved for Olly Ashton who returned his 3 overs for only 7 runs whilst gaining 2 wickets. It was also pleasing to see a significantly improved fielding display after some mistakes in the previous game.

With only a modest 215 to beat, Richmondshire padded up and settled into their stride. Max and Olly opened and returned with 12 and 14 runs respectively off the bat. Excellent running between the wickets from Isaac (11) and James (9) kept the score moving upwards at pace. Our third pair (Raam and Eddy) continued to hammer nails into the Darlington coffin before Joe (11) and Jack (7) finished them off.

A cracking result - well done everyone!

The Wensleydale Heifer Player of the Match goes to Olly Ashton for a strong performance with both bat and ball.
