Richmondshire Under-11s Raiders match report vs Thornton Watlass

After losing the toss, Raiders were asked to bat first on a lovely summer's evening.

Max and Will P opened the innings and scored steadily throughout their 4 overs, scoring 15 and 6 runs respectively with the loss of 1 wicket.

Archie and Alice followed, scoring 6 runs between them but unfortunately losing 3 wickets.

Rebecca and Zac batted well, keeping the Thornton bowlers at bay and scoring 7 runs in the process.
Next up was Raam and Will R. Raam borrowed his dad’s bat and used it to great effect, hitting two fours in a total of 11. Will also added 6 runs to the total but unfortunately between them 2 wickets fell.

Raiders finished on 278-6, net 248.

Will R opened the bowling with a double wicket maiden and immediately put Thornton Watlass on the back foot.

The Raiders’ bowling in general was very good with only 2 wides and 4 no balls being bowled throughout the innings. Wicket takers being Will R 3-11, Zac 1-4, Will P 1-1 and Max 1-16.
Some late big hitting from one of the Thornton players making their total a bit more respectful, but despite that Thornton finished on 263-6, net 233.

Raiders winning by 15 runs. Very well played everyone.

The Wensleydale Heifer player of the match goes to Max Percival for his contribution with bat and ball.
