Richmondshire Under-11s match report vs Stockton (cup)

Richmondshire Under-11s 309 for 3 (294 net) V Stockton 276 for 10 (226 net)

Richmondshire win by 68 runs

Friday night saw the U11s take on Stockton in our 3rd Gemara Cup game of the season, having won the previous 2.

Captain White won the toss, chose to bat and the team came out swinging! Max and Will Poole opened and put 28 runs on the board in the first four overs, Max hitting a swift 17 off the bat ably supported by 6 from Will.

Another 21 runs from both our second and third pairs (firstly James and Will Roberts then Raam and Eddy) kept the score ticking along nicely.

Joe and Jack finished things off with adding 39 runs - 37 of which came off the bat! It was great to see how well all players rotated the strike and kept the score moving throughout the innings.

Knowing they had set a big target, Richmondshire bowled with confidence and Stockton found runs hard to come by. Helped by some suicidal running in the second pair, wickets fell steadily and there was only ever one team in it. The best bowling figures were provided by Joe with 2 for 2; Eddy 2 for 9 and by Raam with 3 for 9 who bowled his 3 overs with guile and class (taking after his old man).

The Wensleydale Heifer Player of the Match is awarded to Raam Raj for excellent bowling and a strong contribution with the bat.
