Richmondshire Raiders match report vs Thornton Watlass

THORNTON WATLASS 307 FOR 4 (287 net) V RICHMONDSHIRE RAIDERS 290 FOR 3 (275 net)

The Raiders travelled to Thornton Watlass last Thursday . The team was Max, Isaac, Will R, Will P, Alice, Rebecca, Archie and James. Max went to do the toss and came back saying “We are batting” so we put our brand new batting covers on! Opening the batting was Will P and Max; together they took the score to 233 for 1 .Then Archie and Alice went in and came back out with the score board reading 249 for 2 .Next were James and Rebecca managing to not lose a wicket they came back with 256 for 2. Then the last pair stepped in - Isaac and Will R. They did lose a wicket but managed to add 29 runs to the score plus a wide ball meaning that the score finished on 290 for 3. Max getting 12; Will P with 13; Archie got 7; Alice got 1; Rebecca also got 1; James got 2; Will R got 4 and; Isaac got 25. The team managed to hit a total of 11 4’s this game - we are still waiting on the 1st 6 of the season.

Will R opened the bowling. 3 overs for 9 runs and took 1 wicket. Archie bowled 2 overs for 7 runs and 1 wicket. Then Rebecca bowled 2 overs for 27 runs, 0 wickets. Then James bowled 2 overs for 21 runs and 1 wicket. Next it was Alice. She bowled 2 overs for 23 runs, 0 wickets. Then it was the spinner Will P bowling 2 overs 4 runs 0 wickets. Last was captain Max bowling 3 overs for 15 runs, 0 wickets. They finished 307 for 4, net 287.

We were very unlucky to lose by only 12 runs. Well played everybody.

The Wensleydale Heifer Player of the Match goes to Will Poole for an excellent all-round performance with bat and ball.
