The 2018 season has started with a win

Although junior matches scheduled for today were postponed due to the state of pitches, the first XI played today, away at Clifton Alliance in York, in the ECB National Knockout Cup.  They recovered from being 25 for 4 to chase down 122 with 5 wickets and 4.1 overs to spare, with junior coach Matty Cowling leading the recovery with an innings of 42 not out.  You can see the scorecard on the club's Play Cricket site, link

The reward for this win is a home tie against South Northumberland on Sunday 13th May; South North are a very strong club side, their team normally includes Marcus North, who scored five test hundreds for Australia and is still in his thirties. This game should be well worth watching.

The Under 15 fixture scheduled for this date will be moved to Richmond School as the first XI match starts at 1.00 pm.
