Victory for the U9s at Middleton in Teesdale

What a cracking day we've had at the annual softball tournament at Middleton in Teesdale.

Taking 2 teams, the players were split into a Y5 and 6 team and our Under 9s team.  Each team played 4 games, playing teams from the home club, a Barnard Castle U13 girls team and Stillington as well as each other!

Our Year 5/6 team won 3 and lost 1, only losing out to the Middleton in Teesdale team.
Our U9 team matched their record, with their only defeat coming from the Richmondshire versus Richmondshire game - watched enthusiastically by the masses of travelling spectators.  The game finished with the narrowest of margins, our oldest team clipping a single off the penultimate ball to seal a 1 run win!

In the end there were 3 teams, all with identical records.  However, our U9s had the best run-rate by far and therefore clinched the title!  Congratulations!

All players played really well, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and were a credit to the club.
