Down to the wire at Masham

Richmond U15's had a great game at Masham in the Hambleton League last night. It certainly beat watching England reserves play football.

Richmond batted first, and after Nathan played a nice cameo innings, Jack really excelled with his first 50 in Richmond colours, playing some great shots against decent bowling. Well done Jack! Amy and Jack put together a 50+ partnership, and Amy finished with a really good 31 not out, also well supported at the end by James Norman with 14 not out. Richmond put a good score of 126-5 on the board.

After a good opening burst from Cameron and Louis, Masham's opener made a classy 50, with some bowling rustiness also helping him along. But Richmond got some control back once he departed, with Griff (2-6), Amy and Tyler all bowling well. Cameron and Louis returned at the end to try and snatch victory but Masham crept over the line in the last over with 6 wickets down.

Although we lost, it was a great game, and great to see continued development from this group of players. Thanks to Griff for doing a great job as captain, and to John Bewell and Mark Jobling for help with umpiring and scoring.
