Sunday 29th May - NYACC League Game v Wolviston U15's

Wolviston won the toss and elected to bowl on the advice of their coach, Richmond soon got off the mark and posted a total score of 200-5:

Tom Spencely            51 Retired
George Spink              2
Matthew Price            22
James Kelly               50 Retired
Gary Walker              41
Mark Walker               1
Jordan Forbes              2
Johnny Carlton            0 Not Out

Wolviston only had 9 men and special credit and thanks goes to those who fielded for them in the first half, Harvey, George and Matthew.

We started the 2nd half with as much enthusiasm as we did the first and allowed Wolviston to score only 34 runs:

Harvey Websdale 3-0-5
Jordan Forbes       3-1-2 (2 Maiden Overs)
Cameron Spence  2-0-4
Johnny Carlton     2-1-3
Jonny Carr            1-0-6
Mark Walker        2-3-2 (1 Maiden)
Tom Spencely      2-2-4 (1 Maiden)
James Kelly         0.5-3-0 (Maiden)

A good start to our league campaign, however they were a very young side.

ECB Cup - Knock Out Stage - Round 2

Rockingham batted first and started well, scoring 50 from the first 9 overs, however once their opening batsman retired on 51 they had little else to offer, other than their other opener who scored 39, their next highest score was 6 and they had 6 ducks. Our fielding was excellent, Matthew Price performing an excellent stunt roll to stop a certain boundary and also throwing a ball for a direct hit from a good distance to run out their number 9, everyone was great though and it was hard to tell we were a man short.  Rockingham finished on 104-8 after 20 overs.

Richmondshire went into bat and once we got passed the first maiden over the victory never looked in doubt, Tom Dowson was not out on 33 (5 Fours), Tom Spencely 44 from 28 balls (5 fours, 1 six) and Matthew Price 20 not out from 12 balls (2 fours, 1 six), this gave Richmondshire the victory with 4.2 overs to spare.

We now move to the 3rd round with another away game against the East Yorkshire winners.

Thank you to everyone who made the trip today, a good win!
