A game of two halves at Marton

Very definitely a game of two halves for the U15's at Marton in the Hambleton League on Tuesday night.

A good bowling and fielding performance restricted a strong Marton side to just over 100. Eight bowlers were well marshalled by skipper Sam Winter. With and a spread of wicket-takers, some good catching and a really good run-out by Amy, things were looking good.

But a very well disciplined Marton attack quickly knocked over our top order. Then it was disappointing that no-one in the middle to lower order took the opportunity for a long bat against the change bowlers to stake a claim for a move up the order. A few ill advised swipes against straight balls speeded the demise to just 31 all out. Much room for improvement!
