National Cricket Day Wednesday 24 June

Richmondshire Cricket Club goes Dutch

There'll be a splash of orange on the green fields of Richmond when Richmondshire Cricket Club welcomes its Dutch visitors on National Cricket Day.

Fifty Dutch school boys and girls will be introduced to the wonderfully English game of cricket, with Yorkshire Cricket Board, Richmond School and the Club providing a range of fun cricket-related activities, coaching throughout the day, culminating in a round-robin tournament sponsored by SG Petch, the Club's partner in providing cricket throughout Richmondshire's schools.

Richmond Mayor Clive World will be in attendance to open the Club's revamped internal facilities which were funded through Richmondshire District Council's Community Opportunities Fund.

Our visitors will be treated to that most quintessential of English culinary delights - the cricket tea - lovingly prepared by our members.

Why not join us on Tuesday evening as we welcome our visitors at 6pm with a BBQ, followed by a coaching session led by Mike Layfield and Tom Stockton, helped by boys and girls from Richmondshire's Junior section?

Come along and watch as Richmond goes Dutch!
