U15 Match Result, National Knockout Cup

Studley 126 for 3 tied with Richmondshire 126 for 6, result decided by wickets lost, so Studley win.

Studley arrived late due to traffic issues, so once they had 4 players, went in to bat. Sam took an early wicket, but the other opener and their number 3 led charmed lives as they swung away, so at halfway they were on 76, well on the way to a high score. Some leg spin from Spence then slowed the scoring rate, as Studley only took 50 off the second 10 overs.

When we came to bat, we lost Sam early on to a caught and bowled from the opening bowler J Bloodgood, who proved hard to get away. George and James stabilised things, but after 9 overs we were on only 39, they were both dismissed as they tried to accelerate. Gary Walker came to the wicket at no 4 and played a really good innings, hitting the ball hard and also placing it in the gaps, scoring 43 runs very fast, partnered by brother Mark he took us close to the target. Unfortunately Gary was out caught when we were about 15 runs short.  Mark was starved of the strike, he hit the last ball for four to level the scores and start the confusion. The Studley Manager didn't know the rules, I thought I did but was wrong, it turned out Studley were the winners when the rule sheet was consulted.
