U11 Festival won by Masham

There will be a new name on the trophy as Masham ran out winners in the final by 13 runs, beating Barnard Castle. Masham had beaten our "first team" in a close semi-final by 3 runs, whilst Barney had overcome Darlington in their semi final. In reality there was very little difference between Richmond, Masham, Barney and Darlington. The two finalists both had a little more hitting power in their batting, which is an advantage when playing with short boundaries, as we were today with the ground divided into two.

The weather was very kind, the rain on Saturday had probably improved the surface of the wickets, which had been getting a bit crumbly after a season's use, then it stayed fine all of Sunday to give very pleasant playing (and spectating) conditions.

Final. Masham 46-0 beat Barnard Castle 33-0.
