Richmond U13's vs Barton match report Thu 5 Jun

A tight game at Gilling finished with Richmond just being edged out by Barton. Richmond batted first, and following a good opening partnership between James Newson and Matthew Bell, a combination of too many wickets and not enough runs took us into negative territory, with only a decent last pairing from James Norman and Henry Noke restoring us to a final net score of 212. Richmond had a mountain to climb with the ball, but put in an excellent performance in the field with everyone bowling well, supported by good fielding and another good performance behind the stumps from Sam Wilson. Particular credit to Will Robinson and Charlie Stephenson on their first games at this level, who both bowled and fielded well. But Barton's score of 255 for 6 meant they just edged it by 13 runs.
