u17s v Hartlepool match report

Excellent first game for the u17s, as Hartlepool were beaten at home on Monday. Captain Nathan Wright won the toss and chose to bat first, opening up with Josh Dowson. These two put on over 100 for the first wicket with Josh making 42, and Nathan batted through to start the season well, finishing on 94 not out. 166-1 on the board after 20 overs. Josh and Owen Kelly opened the bowling, both recording figures of 2 overs for 5 runs, with Owen picking up an important wicket. This start enabled Nathan to rotate his bowlers and have a look at everyone, Peter While Matthew Price and Sam Winter impressing in all taking 2 wickets. Hartlepool finished up on 99-8, giving us an excellent 67 run win and a good start to the season. The fielding was also very impressive, with Owen taking a superb caught and bowled a highlight, as well as four dismissals for Joe Shields behind the stumps. Bob Carr and Tom Stockton
