U12's Match Report - Stockton v Richmondshire - Cup Match
Richmond won the toss and put Stockton into bat, they got off to a slow start with Nathan taking a wicket from the first pair, the rest of the team scored very few runs with the exception of the last pair who scored 32, we took 3 wickets 2 to Nathan and 1 to Tom Spensley, they scored 56 runs which with the added extras and less their wickets gave them a net 252.
Johnny Carlton and Toby went into bat first and Johnny scored a creditable 11 and both players kept their wicket, Jonny Carr and Tom S were in next, Jonny unfortunately was bowled but between the pair they scored 14 with the loss of 1 wicket, Nathan and Tom K came in next, Nathan unfortunately was bowled twice and run out once but Tom K scored 20 including a great 6! Matthew Price and George went in last and we needed 23 to win, they managed to get the score down to 14 and then Matthew was bowled which put them back up to 22, we eventually needed 2 from 2 balls, George hit a lovely drop and run to put Matthew back on strike and he hit a four from the last ball, giving us the win by 4 runs which concluded an excellent game of cricket!
Well done to all who played and supported - a great team effort which by my reckoning puts us top of the group which means we will play the runners up of the other group in the semi final - I will confirm details once I know more.
