Selection Policy, U13 teams
We have U13 teams in two different leagues.
The NYACC (North Yorkshire Area Cricket Council) League fixtures are on Sunday mornings. This is a competitive league, containing teams from big clubs, in which we are doing well. I will select what I believe to be the strongest available team, unless it is obvious we are playing weak opposition and the match will be extremely one-sided. We will be aiming to win every match.
The D and D (Darlington and District) League fixtures do not have a fixed date, though we will try to play our home fixtures on Thursday nights. Apart from Darlington and Richmond, the teams in this league are "village" teams. The team will be different every week, I will try to select a team that will have a reasonably even game, which will sometimes include players from the U11 age group. The team will include a few experienced players to give a bit of direction, but my aim is to use this team to give an opportunity for as many players as possible to play in matches, rather than win trophies.
