Richmondshire U12's v Redcar U12's (Cup Match) - Match Report

Richmond won the toss and out Redcar into bat, Nathan opened the bowling and started strongly by taking 2 wickets in a maiden over, one from a good catch by Jack Smith, Thomas Kavanagh also took 2 wickets in the 4th over including a catch from Johnny Carlton and a stumping from George in the 16th, in total Richmond took 8 wickets (Nathan Simpson 3, Thomas Kavanagh 4 and Tom Spensley 1), 4 Maiden overs (Nathan, Johnny, Jack N and Harvey) Redcar scored only 19 runs and we gave away 17 extras, this left Redcar on a net 172.

Johnny and Tom opened for Richmond and scored 30 between them (25 to Tom and 5 to Johnny), George and Jack Nicholls followed with a partnership of 32 (27 to George and 5 for Jack N), Thomas and Harvey scored 19 between them but for the loss of 3 wickets, Jack Smith and Nathan came in last scoring 13 for the loss of 1 wicket.

Richmond finished on 293 runs giving us the victory by 121 runs, we have Stockton next week in the cup and they will be much tougher to beat.
