Billingham U11 v Richmond U11

Richmond U11s travelled to Billingham to play the fourth game in the Gemara Cup with a fairly inexperienced side with 3 players making their debuts for the team.  Having won the toss Tom decided to bowl first.

The bowling throughout the innings was extremely tight from all bowlers with Richmond racking up a total of 6 maidens from the 16 overs bowled, a great effort.  During the first half of the innings not many runs were scored but no wickets fell either.  However this all changed with the introduction of the Baines brothers for overs 9 to 12.  During their overs both Daniel and Jonathan (on his debut) took two wickets each and redcued the Billingham score even further.  At the end of the innings Billingham had scored 231 runs and with the loss of the 4 wickets had a net score of 199 runs.

When it was Richmond's turn to bat again everyone contributed to the score and only one wicket was lost.  Particular mention goes to Louis Peacock and Tom Ward who batted together in their first game for the Club and scored a pair total of 22 runs with Louis contributing 8 runs and Tom 14 runs.  In total Richmond scored 272 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket giving a net total of 264 runs and a win by 65 runs.

This made it four wins from four this season and even with a number of changes to the team it showed what a good bunch of young players Richmond have.
