Girls Win Again

This Sunday saw the final matches for the girls this Summer. We arrived nice and early keen to win the first running of the 'North Yorkshire Friendly league knockout', Unfortunately our first game didn't start until after lunch.
In the first game we played Pannal and restricted them to 240 taking 5 wickets (Hat-trick Hartley took 3 wickets in four balls in the final over leaving her on another hat-trick). All the batters scored well with Georgi scoring 23. Our total was 260- a win.
In the second match we played the Olicanians from Ilkley, ateam we had beaten by one run on the last ball earlier this year. We batted first and scored a good net 244 against some determined bowling. Taking the field we bowled excellently and restricted them to a net 217-- another win.
In the final game the weather played a part as it has done all summer. We bowled first and were restricting North Stainley to 220 after seven of the twelve overs when heavy rain came. Unfortunately Harrogate pitch flooded and no further play was possible, There was great debate on who would have won that match but was finally decided a draw may have occurred leaving Richmondshire leading with at least two wins and the tournament was ours.
Georgi was given Richmonds player of the season for this league- well done G.

Finally well done to all the girls this year, you have all performed very professionally whilst having great fun. It has been a pleasure to manage you and I hope we can all carry on next year in the same wonderful 'spirit of cricket'.

Don't forget the 'Presentation Night' this Friday starting at 7PM.
I will update you on Winter coaching when stuff if confirmed. In the meantime enjoy the break-- it is well deserved
