U11 Game v Newton Aycliffe

Richmond U11 played their final cup game against Newton Aycliffe at Gilling and continued their good form with a fifth win in a row.

Newton Aycliffe batted first and the pattern of taking early wickets continued with Jonathan Carlton and Thomas Kavanagh impressive in their initial overs.  Newton Aycliffe did not score many runs until their final pair came to the crease and boosted their total ending up with 257 runs and were out 5 times giving a net score of 217 runs.  Eddie Lewington put in a very good fielding performance.

When Richmond batted they lost two early wickets to some impressive Aycliffe bowling.  However everyone contributed consistently down the order with Harvey Websdale hitting two impressive boundaries.  When the last pair went in Richmond were ahead and George Spink made sure of the win with a top scoring innings of 13 runs.  This meant Richmond finished on a net score of 247 running out winners by 30 runs.

It has been an impressive cup campaign with five wins from six games and a solitary defeat in the first game at Darlington.  Now for the league campaign.
