U11 Game v Barnard Castle

Richmond U11s turned in their most impressive performance of the season to comfortably defeat Barnard Castle by 64 runs.

Bowling first Richmond again got off to a good start with wickets in the first two overs.  Although Barnard Castle intially recovered with some good shots for boundaries, Richmond kept the pressure on in the field with some exceptional fielding.  This brought two run outs from great throws by Jordan Forbes and George Spink and two catches and a stumping for wicketkeeper Tom Dowson.  Bowling honours went to Jordan Forbes who didnt concede a run and star man Thomas Kavanagh who took three wickets for two runs in his three overs.  Barnard Castle lost 10 wickets in total and finished with a net score of 189.

Richmond batted with good discipline and generally protected their wicket against some decent bowling.  Everyone contributed some runs right down the order and only two wickets were lost.  This would have been only one wicket had Johnny Carr and James Kelly not tried to turn a 2 into a 3 off the last ball and suffered a run out.  Richmonds net score was 253 runs.

This was an excellent performance by everyone and the boys should be proud of their efforts.
