under 13s Richmond vs Rockcliffe Park 1/6/11

We were narrowly beaten at home by Rockcliffe Park , score Richmond-274 Rockcliffe Park-289.
It was a closely fought entertaining match, Sam Winter and David Russel opened the batting, Sam batted strongly hitting the boundary 5times he got 29runs and lost 2 wickets. The next pair were Nathan Hislop and James Probert, they both hit the boundary twice, James lost one wicket but compensated by taking a wicket in the second innings.Third pair Finnis Barlow and Alex Hartley both hit the bondary twice, Alex lost one wicket but later in the match took 2 wickets in a single over. Our final pair Joe Shields and Luke Parker-Hack put in a strong peformance particularly Joe who hit the boundary 6 times he scored 36runs losing one wicket. Rockcliffe Parke bowled accurately giving us few extras
In the second innings we faced some equally strong batting, J Allinson from Rockcliffe hitting two sixes. Luke bowled the only maiden over of the match, Finnis as usual was a star wicketkeeper, as captain he organised the team the batting and bowling orders very competently, in future he could maybe get the fielders better positioned , I'm sure this will come with practice.Joe and Sam each bowled four overs each, Sam with acurracy, bowling only one wide and Joe with power and finnesse. The 18th and 19th overs were nailbiting but despite Sam and Joe's best bowling efforts and help from the rest of the field, Rockcliffe nudged ahead and fairly beat us.
Man of the match Joe Shields.
