Richmondshire Vipers: Yorkshire Girls tournament Tuesday 31 May

As you know we are competing in our first tournament next Tuesday 31st May.  I must apologise for the lateness of the final details but I have been waiting for confirmation from Yorkshire CC of the arrangements which finally arrived today!

We have entered two teams of 8 a-side, Vipers A and B.  All those year 6 and under have been asked to attend and all will be guaranteed a game.

We have been asked to arrive at Harrogate Cricket Club, St Georges Road, HG2 9BP by 9.30 for a 10.15 start. I suggest everyone meets by the clubhouse on arrival. Each team (I am told) will play at least 3 games over the course of the day.  If either team progress there will be a semi final and final.  Unfortunately I cannot tell you when the tournament will finish.

All equipment is provided by Yorkshire CC, but we have been asked to provide an umpire and scorer for each team. (Hopefully we will have some willing volunteers?!) Lunch will be provided for the umpires and there will be refreshments and bacon butties available from the clubhouse but I would suggest that you bring drinks for the players and a picnic.

This is the first time this tournament has run, I am told all the other teams entered are also beginners.  The whole aim of the day is for all the girls to have fun and gain a better understanding of the game.  I am sure everyone will have a good day. I have enclosed the rules for you to have a look at.

Lastly I will not be able to be with you all on Tuesday, but Andy Barlow and Mark Jobling will both be there on behalf of the club.

If you have any problems on the day please contact Andy Barlow on 07830 302268. I will be wanting updates by text please!
