Junior Registration Day: Sunday 18 April 10:00 to 14:00

A reminder that this year's Junior Registration Day is this Sunday, 18 April.
Registration will take place between 10AM and 2PM so if you can pop along during that time we can complete this year's registration process.
Fees for the year remain at £50 for Juniors between the ages of seven and fifteen: £20 provides your child with a year's club membership; £30 pays for all coaching and matches throughout the summer.
Club clothing will be available at a special discount on Registration Day itself, so please take advantage of the opportunity!
Coaching
We have three new Level II coaches (Rob Brentley, James Naden and Lewis Metcalfe) who will bolster our existing coaching staff on Fridays, and we are hoping to entice a couple of other Level II coaches to the club this summer.
We have split the coaching along Primary and Secondary school lines.
Secondary school Juniors up to the age of 15 will be coached on Wednesday evenings at the main club ground, with a coaching team of our Sri Lankan Club Professional Shanuka Dissanayake, Stewart Thompson,  Jon Swift and Mark Southcott.
Primary school Juniors from 7 to 11 will be coached on Friday evenings at the main club ground, with a coaching team of Lynne Hickman, Dave Moffatt, Rob Brentley, James Naden, Lewis Metcalfe and Andy Barlow. We hope to have a couple of visiting coaches at various times through the summer, and each week two 1st/2nd team players will support the coaching staff. Our 1st team wicket keeper, Kevin Forbes, has offered to provide specialist wicket-keeping coaching over a number of sessions.
Where the club ground is unavailable because of 1st team cup matches or similar (which will only be a handful of weeks), training will be held at Gilling West. The dates will be clearly laid out in the Induction Pack you will receive on Sunday.
In the event of bad weather, SFX school will again be available for the club's use.
Matches
Both the U13's (12 & 13 year olds) and U15's are each playing in two leagues this year, so there should be plenty of match cricket for those age groups.
We have an U12 team in the Hambleton league which will be mainly made up of 10 and 11 year olds, with a couple of 12 year olds to bolster the team/
Finally, for U11s there will be several friendly games and of course the annual U11 Festival which this year takes place in July.
Many of these matches will take place at our new ground at Gilling West, which the club has restored to its former glory (or will have, weather permitting!).
We will need parents to volunteer for driving duties on Away games, and we will need some parents to step forward and manage the teams (perhaps sharing the duties) through the summer.
Finally...
Please spread the word amongst your friends!
I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday, and here's to a scorching summer.

Andy Barlow,
Junior co-ordinator
