LETTER FROM ECB

A ‘wicket’ day out as the Urban Cricket Crew!

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and npower would like to offer all 5 to 12 year olds the opportunity to combine learning with sport. On specific days at npower Test matches this summer, your ‘juniors’ can watch England take on Australia, whilst at the same time enjoy an educational experience.

Through this special initiative, groups of U13s can watch an international match from an especially reserved seating area – the Urban Cricket Crew! On arrival at Headingley at the Urban Cricket Crew Welcome Area, all children receive an Urban Cricket Crew goody bag containing an energising cricket activity pack, called ‘Sticky Wickets’ (designed and mapped to the National Curriculum by Key Stage 2 teachers), a cap, t-shirt, giant foam hand, rollabana and pen. Children can also have their photo* taken in front of an Urban Cricket Crew backdrop as a souvenir of the day, before they take their seats.

In addition, face painters and a photographer will be on hand throughout the day to entertain your children. All that we ask is that you bring your group of 5-12 year olds and food for the day… and be ready to have a great time!

The Urban Cricket Crew will be at England v Australia, 4th npower Test match, Headingley Carnegie on Friday August 7th and the day’s schedule is as follows:

09:30 - Arrival at Headingley Carnegie, Main Gate on St. Michael’s Rd. Proceed to Urban Cricket Crew Welcome Area, by following the Urban Cricket Crew signs, to collect the activity packs, goodies and have your group souvenir photograph* taken.
10:00 - Proceed to the North East Stand – Block R, by following the Urban Cricket Crew signs.
