Friendlies vs Raby Castle and Rockliffe reports

Richmond came out on top in two very enjoyable friendlies against D+D league opposition in Raby Castle and Rockliffe.

In the first match, good contributions all the way down the order saw Richmond score a good total of 132/4. It was particularly pleasing to see the development in the batting of some of the D+D regulars like Griff Bewell, James Newson, Sam Wilson and Henry Noke who all batted really well. Jordan Forbes also played typically well in top scoring. In the field, Jordan captained astutely and was well supported by the bowling and fielding with Raby scoring 138-10. Standout figures were Matty Bell 1-3, Jordan 2-1 and Tom Cole 2-10. Overall Richmond won by 24 on net score.

Against Rockliffe, Johnny Carlton marshalled his troops really well in the field, with U11's Torin O'Neill (1-6), Charlie Stephenson (2-5), Harry Mawer (0-1) and Jamie Pender (1-6) all bowling really well in their 2 overs each. Rockliffe totalled 88-4, a net score of 68. Richmond's reply was led by two excellent stands of 37-1 (Johnny and Harvey Websdale) and 38-0 (Jack Smith and Tom Spensley). James Newson and Jamie also chipped in usefully for Richmond to total 106-4 and win by 18.

Overall, two very different teams both played with enthusiasm and skill for two wins - well done to all that played.
