Indoor League Report - week 5

Team D won the Junior Division of the Indoor League as a result of beating Team B, leaving Team B with 3 wins from their 3 games.
Team B batted first, scoring 66 for 2. James Madden top scored with 25 retired, with Alfie Boycott again showing excellent crease occupation, without which his team could well been bowled out inside the 10 overs. When Team D batted, openers Bertie Morris and Ollie Taylor made hay, both retiring unbeaten. Team B had probably got the bowling order wrong as Ralph Hoskyns-Abrahall, who finished with 2 wickets, did not bowl in the first four overs. Year 2 player Louis Morris got one over on his older brother by top scoring with 28 not out as Team D finished on the excellent score of 108 for 4. Nine years ago the Dowson brothers, now 1st XI regulars, excelled as their team won the league undefeated, will the Morris brothers do the same?
In the Senior Division there was an excellent close game with Team D narrowly defeating Team B. Team B batted first, sub Andrew Ralph and Raam Raaj both retired as Team B reached 102 for 2. Team D started well but then lost a couple of wickets mid-innings. Openers Joe Syddall and Joe White had both retired and were available to bat again when final pair Rebecca White and sub Sophie White came together with the score on 66 for 2. The girls calmly accumulated runs at the rate of 10 an over to take the score to 108 for 2 and their team to victory without the two openers being needed to bat again.
The full scorecards are below at the link at the bottom of the post.
The Senior Division is still undecided, any of three teams could win, with Team A playing Team C in the final fixtures next week.
Team A have 230 runs and 4 points
Team C have 221 runs and 2 points
Team D have 312 runs and 4 points
