Indoor League mid-point review

Indoor league statistician and press correspondent Mike White has put the following article on the under 11s Facebook group page, it is repeated here for those not on Facebook:
Indoor League: Midpoint Review
We're 3 weeks and 6 games into this year's Indoor League. The Competition is hotting up!
In the Junior League, no team has managed to impose themselves, with only Team D being unbeaten so far and playing their second game this Friday. In the first game (AvB) there were some noteable performances, firstly from James Madden, who crashed his way to an unbeaten 23, while 2 wickets from Jake Wright and Sophie White pegged Team B back, the latter taking her wickets in a rare double wicket maiden! Archie Lawson batted very well for his 30 not out to post 77 for Team C in the second junior fixture. However, it wasn't enough as Ollie Taylor (21) and then Bertie Morris (12) scored well as Team D knocked the runs off easily, aided by a whole host of extras.
Last Friday, Team C battled against Team B. Team B batted first and with only 8 scoring shots in 10 overs, managed a modest score of 55. Unsurprisingly, Team C made short work of the challenge, with Bobby Walker scoring a powerful and unbeaten 16, well supported by Mylo Walker (9) and Kyle Cleminson (9). They did lose 4 wickets in the process, Ralph Hoskins-Abrahall returning the best figures of 2 for 13.
In the Senior League, things have been highly competitive, as usual! Team A beat Team B in the first week's game. Batting first, the 'A Team' delivered a decent total of 113 for 5, Jack Platt top scoring with 24. 10 year old Will Roberts (very special things come in small sizes) batted 6th and thundered a 19no. It was well worth noting deputant Mason Platt's 16 - who was convinced he was going to be out first ball - a cracking effort! Zac Stolarski was the pick of the bowlers for Team B, returning 2 for 14. Team B's reply was heaped on controversy! After dismissing 5 of the 6 batters very cheaply, Issac Bottomley was left at the crease as 'last man standing' and helped himself to the rest of the overs - scoring a fantastic 92 runs and technically taking the score past 113. Unfortunately, the rules state that a batter must retire after they have passed 50 so unfortunately, Team B lost the game, with Issac's recorded score as 55. Jack Platt and Will Roberts both taking 2 wickets for Team A.
The second game saw Team D beat Team C in a fantastic game that went down to the last over. Team C's 'pros' were on form, with Thomas Wooff scoring 21 and Jake Percival returning an unbeaten 39 in 11 balls. James Cox took 2 wickets for 3 runs - superb bowling from Coxy Lad! Team D's reply was inconsistent, to say the least! Three batters left the crease without troubling the scorer and within 4 balls! However, an unbeaten half century from Joe White (52) and a supportive 15 from Cox saw them over the line with 2 balls to spare.
This weekend's game was a belter! Team B took on Team C. With a couple of missing players and a few reserves thrown in, the line up looked very competitive and it didn't disappoint! Batting first, Team B put on 117 for 4. Raam Raj retired on 26 and so did Will Shaefer on 23. A special birthday present was waiting for Will Poole as he was run out without facing a ball - the dreading finger being raised by his father Mark at square leg, much to the poor lad's disgust! In reply, it was always going to be close! Joe White (making a guest appearance for Team C) top scored with 27, retired. With 40 required in the last 3 overs, Joel Harrod (8) and Archie Lawson (18) batted superbly to get within a few runs of the total before Lawson was bowled by Bottomley in the final over. Wooff returned to the crease, needing 4 to win from the last ball. They scored 3 and tied a fantastic game of indoor cricket!
Next up:
