Under 9’s Bedale v’s Richmond Match report

Richmond Under 9’s went into the last Hambleton League game against Bedale on Wednesday 24th July. With a win needed to share first place with Thornton Watlass, Richmond were ready for the challenge.
Kyle Cleminson captain for the team lost the to toss and Bedale elected to bowl. With some fine batting from Bertie, Ted and debutant Henry,  Richmond posted a score of 305-1.

Richmond’s bowling started well with Ted taking two wickets in his first over, and it was clear that Richmond had enough in the tank to take the points. With only a handful of extras it showed how far the players have progressed from the first game of the season where the extras were the highest score.

The end of season table has Richmond tied 1st with Thornton Watlass on 36 points, this should qualify for a play off final on September 8th at Masham.

Well done to all players who have contributed to the results this season.

We have planned over the summer a handful of friendly matches where will try and get as many players some game time.

Well done to the under 9’s on a good season. Just a shame someone who isn’t even part of the under 9’s got a game instead of the players who turn up every week
