Under-13s match report vs Hartlepool (league)

With only 2 games away from being a perfect season in the league, Richmondshire travelled to Hartlepool who had inflicted their only defeat of the season, in the cup. There was to be no repeat.

The tale of the season is that when openers Alex Nimmo and Finlay Clark start well, then the whole team does well and so it was this evening. Alex retiring on 32 and Fin scoring 20.

Thomas Wooff, batting third for the first time, continued his fantastic form, retiring on 32, with Joe Syddall finishing on 18 not out and Jake Percival on 19 not out. Fantastic batting against a good Hartlepool attack.

Richmondshire finished on 144-1 from 20 overs.

Hartlepool’s county opening batsmen were always going to be the key to whether they could chase down the score, but when new boy Dan Hall got his first wicket, bowling their number 2 for a duck, then it was advantage Richhmondshire. Another wicket from Mr Dependable, Fred Hendrix and a run out slowed down any further scoring and it was game over.

Hartlepool finished on 118-3 from 20 overs, Richmondshire winning by 26 runs.

Bring on Norton!
