Under-13s match report vs Darlington (league)

Richmondshire travelled to Darlington for what is always a tough game and at times, it seemed that the home team may gain the upper hand.

After being put into bat, Richmondshire got off to another great start with opener Alex Nimmo retiring, not for the first time this season, on 30, and Finlay Clark also getting close to doing the same before being caught for 25. William Shaefer reached 10 but it was in-form Thomas Woof who stole the show, retiring for the first time to much applause on 30. There was also a quick fire 14 from Tom Van Niekirk.

Richmondshire finished on 137-3 from 20 overs.

The Darlington openers then set off on in pursuit and were ahead of the run rate before they were out for 24 and 22 respectively, the wickets coming from Jake Percival and Tom Van Niekirk.

With them gone, so were Darlington’s chances of winning the game with Tom taking another wicket following a great catch by wicket keeper Tom Wooff, and the following batsmen were never able to match the run rate due to great bowling and fielding.

Darlington finished on 113-3 from 20 overs, Richmondshire winning by 24 runs.
