Middleton in Teesdale Cricket Fesitival

Richmondshire Under 9’s attended the Middleton in Teesdale cricket festival on Sunday 9th. The weather gods were looking down on us and we all had a great day with some excellent cricket been played.

The theme for the teams was based on the World Cup currently been played. Team 1 AKA Pakistan was made up of Elliot, Thomas, Oliver, Daniel, Archie and Jake. Team 2 AKA Bangladesh was made up of Bertie, Ralph, Ted, Lewis, Matthew and Kyle.

With 3 pools of 3 teams, each team played 2 matches. Pakistan won and lost 1 match, Bangladesh won both opening games and progressed into the final pool against Sedgefield and Barnard Castle.

In a very close game with Barnard Castle, Richmond took a valuable wicket on the last bowl to claim a draw with 240 runs.

Richmond lost narrowly to Sedgefield, but we had a wicket disallowed due to been a no ball and a couple of boundary claims not going our way.

So to some things up we had teams finishing second and fifth, but more importantly gaining some valuable match experience. Well done boys.
