Richmondshire under-11s (Hambleton League) vs Masham

Written by Max Percival

On a very hot and sunny Tuesday evening at the school, Richmond played Masham in the first round of the play-offs. Max won the toss and decided to field.

Masham batted steadily throughout their innings and ended on 271 for 4 wickets (net 251).  The wickets fell to Isaac, Zac, Tom and Max with everyone bowling and fielding well.

In reply, Richmond’s opening pair of Fin and Max scored 25 between them for the loss of 1 wicket. Next up was Tom and James, who batted well again only losing 1 wicket. Isaac and Zac came in next adding to the run rate with only 1 wicket falling. The last pair of Joseph and Will took the total past Masham’s and with only one over to go, Masham needed a couple of wickets. The ever keen Joseph nearly obliging with a couple of dodgy quick singles-everyone had their hearts in their mouths! Richmond survived and with a total of 284-3 (net 269), won by 18 runs.

Yet another great team effort. Well done boys!
