Under 9s continue their 100% start to the season

Northallerton 266-4 (net score 246)  vs  Richmondshire 299-3 (net score 284)

On a lovely summer’s evening in Northallerton, the home side won the toss and put us into bat.
The innings progressed well, in a sensible and professional manner with Richmondshire only furnishing the home side with 3 wickets throughout the 16 overs.  Notable performances from Issac Bottomley (11 runs) and Joseph White (15 runs) kept the strike rate moving at a considerable speed.  Northallerton’s bowling contributed significantly to our total; 60 extras adding to an innings which finished 299 for 3 (net score 284).

A strong fielding performance followed.  Only 13 wides were bowled (our lowest total of the season so far!) and consistent bowling ensured that the first three batting pairs managed a miserly total of 11 runs off the bat between them in 12 overs.  Although a strong final partnership moved the home side’s total into respectability, the result was never in doubt.  Excellent bowling figures from Eddie Player (2 overs, 2 wickets for 11 runs) and Jack Platt (2 overs, 2 wickets for 5 runs) were the pick of the bowlers.

Well done Richmondshire – 4 wins from 4 games.  Can’t say better than that!
