Match Report, U13 Friendly v Barton
Barton 82 for 3 (267 net) beat Richmondshire 65 for 5 (240 net).
The bowling from both sides in this match was of a decent standard and would not have looked out of place in an NYACC league match. A special mention to Olly Bird, who took a wicket with his first ball for the club.
Barton won the match as a result of superior batting and fielding, they scored 54 runs off the bat, hitting 7 fours, Richmondshire scored 40 runs off the bat, hitting 3 fours. Several times enthusiastic ball chasing by Barton fielders resulted in the ball being stopped just before it reached the boundary, watched by Richmondshire batsmen who should instead have been running hard between the wickets!! Our best batting performance came, despite the name, from Jim Bowler-Jones, who hit some nice shots in scoring 8 not out.
An enjoyable match, we hope to fit in a return fixture during the school holidays.
