With just four games to go Richmondshire continue to set an unremitting pace at the top of the Northern division, an emphatic 41-run victory at Blackhall on Monday night making it seven wins out of seven for the Dalesmen.
On this occasion it wasn’t the usual big guns who fired as Richmond rattled up 129-5 in the first innings. Adam Langhorne and Owen Kelly have tended to headline in recent weeks, the former being the division’s leading run scorer before this week’s games with 213 at an average of 71.
But Jordan Moss was the lad coming to the rescue after some early breakthroughs by Blackhall, his 45 proving crucial in lifting the leaders to their total. And then it was over to Mark Walker who returned a career best five wickets for 18 runs to restrict the home team to 88-9 and keep his team on top of the table.
