U15 League Match v Barnard Castle, report

The unbeaten league performance was maintained with a victory against Barney that was hard work due to a distinctly dodgy batting performance against their spin dominated bowling attack.

We batted first and made 95 for 9, George got 35, next top scorer was extras as a succession of batters were unable to deal with slow bowling. We were helped again by poor field settings and not the sharpest of fielding from the opposition.

Our performance in the field was excellent, restricting Barney to 85 for 6 on the same pitch as Seaton Carew managed 96 last week. All our fielders were sharp, there was a lot of  verbal "energy" and Mark Walker finished with the fine figures for 3 for 11, Harvey also burgled a couple of wickets to finish with 2 for 7.

There is no match next week as Blackhall have resigned from the league.
