U15 Match Report - Cup semi final

Richmondshire 128 for 4 wickets, Hartlepool 110 for 4 wickets.

The match was played on a bouncy wicket right at one edge of the square, leaving a tiny boundary on one side and a massive one on the other. Sam scored a fine 50 not out, supported by 23 from Spence and a very swift 21 from Gary Walker, who sent a six a long way over the short boundary.

Hartlepool never quite managed to score at the required rate; their openers made a slow start against Sam and Jonny Carlton and all our bowlers managed to bowl balls that were not easy to hit to the boundary. Mark, Jonny Carlton and Ted took wickets, with James Irving getting a run out. Catches were held by H and Harvey.

It was pleasing to win by means of our performance in the field, in recent matches this has not been necessary with the big totals we have been scoring.

The final will be against Barnard Castle. They beat us very narrowly in the first match of the season, but we are now playing much better.
