Richmond U13's Enjoy The Big Stage

Richmond U13 played their most recent league fixture on the main ground at Richmond against Norton, and enjoyed their first chance of the season to play on the 'big stage'.

Batting first after winning the toss on what is normally a good batting pitch it quickly looked a good decision as the runs flowed.  Early on this was due to excellent running between Tom Dowson and James Kelly who scored almost every ball.  Later in the innings it was some powerfully struck boundaries mainly from Louis Peacock and Jordan Forbes.  Richmond ended on 158 - 5 with Tom, James and Louis all reaching 30 and Jordan out for 25.

It was quickly evident that Norton were not going to threaten the target and this gave a chance for everyone to have a bowl.  Wickets were shared around with Louis and Alex Speakman contributing two each, Alex narrowly failing to take a hat trick.  The batsmen came and went at regular intervals and Norton were eventually dismissed for 39 runs in the 16th over.

A comprehensive win by the U13's, who'll be hoping for another outing on the main pitch soon.
