U15 Match Report "Deadly Tedly" helps see off young Billingham

Richmondshire 202 for 2 beat Billingham 32 all out.

A very one-sided match this as Billingham fielded a very young team of ten players to which we added Patrick Carlton as a sub fielder.

We batted first, Sam retired on 53 in the tenth over. George Spink was caught behind for 31 and Toby toe-ended a full toss to mid-wicket, where Patrick took a good catch, Toby was out for 30 off about 10 balls. (Patrick was under instruction to catch the ball if it came to him). Harvey scored 27 not out and James Irving 35 not out with five fours.

Sam and Toby were rested from the bowling attack which was opened by Jonny Carr and Ted. Both struck in their first over, as did first changes Spence and Jonny Carlton. Jack, H and Harvey also had a bowl, all bowling tidily. Ted returned at the end to finish off the innings, finishing with three wickets for no runs.

I suspect a number of the Billingham team will be playing on Tuesday night against our under 11s, this will have given them a useful warm-up for what should be a more even match.

Our bowlers did not bowl at full pace against the younger batters, an interesting side effect was that we didn't bowl any wides or concede any byes.
