Indoor league week 2

The night started with the highest score in memory as Team D made 144 for 3 off 12 overs. (We were playing 7 a side to give a couple of reserves a game). Louis Peacock scored 30, Ben Dale 28 and Harry Mawer 23. Amazingly Team C then managed 144 for 4 in reply, levelling the scores off the last ball. Tom Ward top scored with 35, but it was a real team effort as every Team C batter made double figures. The result is a tie, one point each.

In the senior division, Team D were up against the girls. The girls had 6 regular players, new recruit Sam(antha) Potter and Team Manager Mark Jobling playing as a fielder only. The boys batted first, scoring 99 for 6, Matthew Price hit 24 and Jonny Baines 30. Jobbers rolled back the years to do a Gary Pratt in the field, whilst Lucy and Amy starred with the ball. The girls got well ahead, being 70 for 4 after 6 overs, from this position a very defensive approach with the bat would probably have secured victory. However, wickets kept falling, a number due to run outs, leaving them all out for 84 runs. Amy Jobling batted to the end of the innings for 23 runs, Lucy and Abby also made double figures.
