Richmond vs Barton, friendly Thu 24 Jul Match report

We had a really enjoyable U13 friendly in the sun at Barton on Thursday evening. Richmond batted first and posted a decent score of 270 net, with Max, James, Matty and Ollie contributing particularly well.

A good bowling and fielding performance with all 10 players bowling, and James, Jamie and Sam picking up wickets led to Barton needing 28 net off their final four over partnership to win. But one of the batters was our very own James Kelly, and some classy shots by him led to only 9 required off the last over with James on strike. But a great runout by Matty off the second ball, followed by ice cool death bowling by Eddie with two superb yorkers hitting the stumps meant a Richmond victory in a great game.

A special  mention to U11 Jamie Pender who made his competitive debut, batted well without being out and took a wicket from his good bowling performance too.
