Richmond vs Raby Castle match report Thu 26 Jun D+D Cup

The D+D U13 team again went to a last ball finish vs Raby, this time in the D+D cup, and again were just edged out. Raby batted first, posting 118-5 in their 20 overs, a net score of 293. Eddie took the bowling honours with 2-19, and also pulled off a brilliant run out. There were wickets too for Nathan and Griff. Richmond started with two good unbeaten partnerships between James and Tom, and Max and Sam, but runscoring was only steady, with Raby bowling and fielding with discipline. Griff and George added some momentum with Griff in particular smashing 5 boundaries, but the loss of four wickets meant that Eddie and Nathan needed 52 net off the last five overs to win. A brilliant unbeaten partnership with Nathan in particular peppering the legside boundary led to six being required off the last ball to tie. Nathan hit a great shot but it was four only, so Richmond lost by two. Still, another great game, and well done to Eddie who captained the team really well.
