Match Report, U15 League Match v Wolviston
Oh dear, another defeat, but not a bad one. Wolviston batted first and made 162 for 3 on a good batting surface with a fast outfield, two of their batters scoring fifties. Georgie Walker bowled well early on, with a double wicket maiden. Pleasingly, we only bowled two extra balls for wides/no balls.
In our reply, Toby scored 36 opening the batting, Finnis then scored his first ever fifty, bringing it up with his first ever six, but when he retired, scoring at ten an over was beyond our lower order, we ended on 137 for 5.
We have played Wolviston teams three times in the last week, there is something to learn from their field settings, particularly at Gilling and their ground they were good at setting fields to avoid fours whilst still cutting off the easy single.
