Match Report U15 Cup Semi-Final v Wolviston

The U15 cup campaign ended with a defeat by a well organised Wolviston team. The standard of cricket played was good, but Wolviston played that bit better than us.

The match was played at Gilling with the ground in excellent condition and the outfield fast. Wolviston batted first, both their openers got going and then got out for twenty-odd, we then made inroads into their batting order apart from the number 5 who scored 39 with 8 fours. Wolviston ended up on 116 for 8, pleasingly only 8 runs came from extras.

Our reply was hampered by losing both Sam and Owen for single figure scores. Joe and Jordan staged a recovery, but both were out immediately after hitting sixes. Scoring at 6 an over without losing wickets then proved beyond our lower order and we were bowled out for 83 with 2.4 overs left.

Good luck to Wolviston in what will inevitably be a final against Stockton.
