U15s v Sedgefield, match report

Richmondshire 117 for 6 beat Sedgefield 64 for 9.

On a lovely morning for cricket, Richmondshire batted first and Joe Shields tucked in to the Sedgefield bowling for his standard innings of 51 retired. Supporting double figure scores were made by Sam, Finnis and Andy Gordon.

When Sedgefield batted, one opener and the number 3 were removed early on by Sam, leaving J Rutherford as the only batsman who looked capable of winning the match for Sedgefield. He was then bowled by Ryan Campbell, making a welcome return to cricket, sending down two maidens before we started to rotate the bowlers. Andy Gordon ran through the middle order with figures for 4-2-5-4 and Maurice Boschke also took a couple of wickets. There is one remaining fixture in the mini league section of the cup against Barnard Castle; if we win that we will get a home semi-final.
