U15's v Darlington, Match Report

A good win this. We batted first, which makes sense on a cool morning when fielding is not that pleasant. Our opening partnership of Sam and Joe was not disturbed until Sam was caught for 44, Joe went on to make 51 retired and Owen 28 not out as we finished on 143 for 1.

When Darlo batted, they set off hard but soon started losing wickets. No. 3 L Horner managed to go undefeated for 51 retired, but the lack of runs from the other end meant that they were always going to fall short, finishing on 104 for 6. Sam Winter had the best bowling figures with 2 wickets for 7 runs. Our fielding was much better than in the first match of the season.

Thanks to U12s Griff and James for ensuring we had a full 11 players on a holiday weekend.
