Match Report, U15 cup fixture v Barnard Castle

A relatively easy fourth win out of four, that ensures we will get a home semi-final, though it will probably be two weeks before we know who our opponents are.

It was already raining in Darlington when we started, so there were concerns the match would not get finished.

Barnard Castle batted first and lost both their openers for ducks, they then lost wickets steadily through the innings as eight of our players got a bowl. Ted and Ryan each took two wickets whilst Sam, Toby and Jordan were all economical as Barney finished on 69 for 8.

Our reply started slowly as Barney gave their two best bowlers the maximum four over spell at the start. James was caught at short cover and there were few loose balls to be put away. Once the openers were out of the way, Jordan started piercing the field with some firmly hit and well placed shots and the scoring rate rose as we reached the target with one wicket down and five overs left, Jordan finishing on 41 not out.
