U13 Strength in depth tells against Wolviston.
With both teams fielding significantly weakened teams due to holidays, it was Richmondshires strength in depth at this level that saw them through to a 75 run victory.
Adam won the toss and put Wolviston in to bat. A very strong all round bowling performance and keen fielding restricted Wolviston to 64 runs for 6 wickets. Toby Lush (3 overs 2 for 8) , Gary Walker (2 overs 1 for 6), Matty Price (3 overs 1 for 7) and Luke Bell (2 overs 1 for 6) being the wicket takers. All the bowlers contributed to keeping the score down, the only slightly disappointing feature was conceding 26 extras.
First pair Matty (15 not out) and Jacob got us off to a good start, made even better by second pair Adam (19 not out) and Gary (22 out once). With the pressure off the remaining pairs went for their shots. Wickets fell due to some well taken catches and players been cleaned bowled as a result of a very low bounce.
Ryan was unfortunate to be out twice as a result of some good Wolviston fielding in scoring 11. Holing out to a good catch and an excellent run out. George and Mark put on 32 between them but were out four times.
Toby then rounded things off with 26 not out.
Overall an excellent performance, particularly by the stand in players, who showed they can perform at this level.
