D and D U13s beat Darlo again

Another good game of pairs cricket against Darlington that wasn't decided until late in the last over as we won by 8 runs. This was a league match, we now share top spot in the D and D league table with Darlington as we have each lost one game.

We batted first, Gary, Mark and Harvey all struck the ball well scoring double figures, Mark losing a ball over the wall as we scored 81 for 3 off 16 overs, 266 net.

When we bowled, Ted, subbing for the sick Maurice, compensated for an awful batting display with a very testing double wicket maiden, Nathan, Gary and Liam also took wickets, whilst the twins combined for a runout. Darlington also managed to lose our ball, putting it over the wall twice, the second time we didn't find it; thankfully it was an old one. Their final score was 88 for 6, 258 net.

There can't be many grounds in the country that have had as many matches played on the same strip as the one at Gilling, but it is still playing much better than last year; thanks very much John Deighton.

Next week we don't have a D and D fixture, it is our week off, so unless Yarm want to re-arrange the NYACC fixture they can't play this weekend, no more U13 matches until 14th July, when we will play Darlington RA at Gilling.
